Annual Golf Tournament 2012
Become a sponsor for our upcoming 9th Annual MVLE Golf Tournament at Springfield Golf & Country Club! This year we have an amazing pro showing us stunning trick shots at hole 10: Josh Olson. Over the last fifteen years, Josh has consulted, produced and entertained in more than 1,000 golf events. During a Power & Trick Shot Show, audiences are amazed to see Josh hit a putter over 250 yards, swing a driver that is over 9 feet long, pop a golf ball out of his mouth and drive it 275 yards, and hit a ball 200 miles per hour through a piece of plywood. Finally, Josh goes for extreme distance when he uses his 145 mph club-head speed to blast drives over 400 yards and even the unthinkable 500 yards.
"I am always tinkering with something new," says Josh. "I usually work on new things while I warm up for a show - many of the shots I have hit actually come on the fly during a show." He is currently working on a trick that involves five volunteers tossing balls simultaneously from different directions. For details contact Paige Coffey at Paige@mvle.org.

MVLE was founded in 1971 by parents of four adult individuals with disabilities seeking to create opportunities for their children. Incorporated in 1972, MVLE established itself at Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church in Virginia to provide vocational and day support services. Through the years, MVLE has evolved into a specialized and technical training facility with multiple locations and various job opportunities. Despite merger attempts in the mid 90's, changes in leadership, and a
recession; MVLE has continued to expand its community partners, diversify revenue streams, innovate rehabilitation and job training, win significant contracts, and increase the number of individuals we serve. Today, MVLE is an internationally accredited agency providing daily work opportunities and rehabilitation services to over 630 adults with
disabilities in more than 200 organizations. They have grown revenues from $5.6 million to $14 million. They have forged a U.S. Department of Defense mentor-protégé agreement with Northrop Grumman, increased sustainability through new business initiatives like AbilityNation Scentsations™ and formed new partnerships to diversify revenues. Independence and autonomy through meaningful, rewarding, and salaried jobs are the ultimate goal. With the support of individuals and their families, board of directors, stakeholders, volunteers, and partnerships with the private and government sectors; MVLE will continue to change futures, one person at a time.
