HR Recruiter/ Generalist

Location: Springfield

Essential Functions:

  • Perform all aspects related to recruiting including: maintaining People-Trak recruiting database, posting job vacancies internally and externally, screen resumes, administering applicant testing, scheduling and conducting interviews, administering background tests and drug tests, performing reference checks, extending offers of employment, and sending out new-hire packets.
  • Enter new hire data and update current employee information in People-Trak.
  • Enter new hires into E-Verify.
  • Establish and maintain contacts with other rehabilitation agencies for AbilityOne contract recruitment.
  • Maintain and audit personnel files for compliance and regulatory needs.
  • Maintain an ongoing pool of substitutes to provide support for our center-based programs.
  • Answer employee questions related to organization policies.
  • Perform exit interview and analyze exit interview data to compile turnover trends.
  • Maintain and update the organizational chart.
  • Assist with employee relations to include: employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
  • Provide back-up on benefits administration to include: annual open enrollment, new hire data entry, 401(k) hardship withdrawals, and short term disability and FMLA requests.
  • Coordinate with the Training and Development Manager to deliver monthly orientations.
  • Handle worker’s compensation claims 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of employment laws including: FLSA, COBRA, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, ADA, ADEA, GINA, OSHA, HIPPA, ERISA, USERRA, and FMLA.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage one’s time effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning skills to identify strengths and weakness of proposed solutions to complex problems. 

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business management, or similar field required. Three years of HR generalist and recruiting experience in an HR department required. PHR preferred. 

 

Staff Accountant

Location: Springfield

Responsibilities:

The Staff Accountant maintains the organization’s general accounting records to achieve and sustain high-quality fiscal operations in a busy and complex accounting environment. The Staff Accountant collects and analyzes data; designs reports of financial information for management and governance purposes; and participates in the budgeting process.

  • Review accounts payable vouchers for proper approval, coding and fund availability;
  • Verify proper supporting documentation is present and correct;
  • Research accounts payable inquires received from departmental staff;
  • Review journal entries submitted by departmental staff for proper coding, accounting treatment and approval; and verify that proper supporting documentation is present and correct;
  • Perform pledge receivable and revenue reconciliation between the general ledger and the development department database to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Review supporting documentation for designated, temporarily restricted and permanently restricted transactions;
  • Prepare monthly closing entries and adjustments, as directed;
  • Assist with budget preparation, including budget revisions and coordinating departmental submissions to prepare budget roll-up;
  • Assist with year-end closing and audit preparation; and
  • Other special projects as assigned and requested.


Experience and Education:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting; knowledge of non-profit budgeting and accounting; two to three years of related work experience in non-profit accounting preferable; strong analytical skills; a collaborative working style and ability to coordinate and work cooperatively with outsourced finance and accounting consultants; and ability to establish strong working relationships with peers and management. Must also have excellent communication skills and ability to meet deadlines. Must possess a high level of skill in Traverse, Great Plains or SAP Accounting software.

Summary:
The Instructor will provide training, coaching, mentoring and counseling to the individuals in the areas of appropriate work attitudes, employability, work skills specific to individuals’ employment, social and communication skills, use of adaptive equipment and behavioral change in conjunction with rehabilitation specialists and others as appropriate.

 Responsibilities:   

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly environment.
  • Provide personal care assistance.
  • Assist with individuals’ self help skills and utilize behavior management techniques in accordance with State of Virginia guidelines and MANDT behavior protocol.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of each individual’s program and implement goals and objectives as outlined in the ISP.
  • Maintain good communication with parents, guardians, residential counselors, and other professionals regarding individuals’ overall progress.
  • Assist with record keeping and processing reports.
  • Familiarize self with and exercise applicable personnel practices and policy at work site, including OSHA standards.
  • Complete all required training to maintain licensing requirements and participate in training to develop professional skills.

Job Coach

Location: Arlington, Chantilly & Springfield

Summary:
Associate's degree or college level courses in Human Services, Behavior Management, Psychology, or related field preferred. Minimum of 1 year working with persons with disabilities in vocational, residential, or vocational program required.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train, support and monitor 4-8 individuals in the group supported employment program utilizing positive behavior management techniques at an off site location.
  • Record keeping and documentation.
  • Assess and evaluate individuals on work skills and behaviors.
  • Establish and maintain good communication with parents, guardians, residential counselors, and professionals regarding the individuals’ progress, health and hygiene, incidents, etc. on a weekly basis.
  • Consistently maintain open communication with vendor management and Site Manager, outlining changes of the work schedule, concerns, notification of late arrivals, and agency in-service training days.
  • Complete all required training to maintain licensing requirements and participate in training to develop professional skills as needed and requested.
  • Participation at the conclusion meeting of individuals’ work assessment period (30 day) and annual interdisciplinary team meeting.
