MVLE has established a successful partnership with the federal government through participation in the Javits-Wagner O'Day program (JWOD). JWOD is a federal initiative helping persons who are blind or severely disabled find employment with non-profit organizations that provide products and/or services to government agencies. MVLE is one of 600 community-based organizations in the JWOD nationwide network that is administered by NISH.
MVLE's partnership with NISH/JWOD began in 1994, when we were awarded the custodial services contract for the M.V. Bostetter Federal Bankruptcy Courthouse in Alexandria, Virginia. Since then, our partnership has expanded to $2.1 million in federal contracts, providing employment for more than 48 people living with disabilities. These contracts supply government agencies with highly-valued, reliable and quality services, while providing meaningful living wages and benefits to individuals living with disabilities.
